Microsoft Dynamics 365 with Versium Predict

Today i am going to explain new feature in Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Versium Predict is additional feature which predict the sales and marketing team to evaluate which lead or customer is the potential buyer.

With the Versium Predict, once you install the application into the dynamics 365 the rest is assured by the Versium Predict.

It is built on power of Machine Learning and it will predict which will show who is willing to buy products are services, this is a cool features with the dashboard and statistics of which any sales or marketing team can easily evaluate.

How to install the Versium Predict,

Let's get's started..

Go to the App Source and type the Versium Predict and its free with Microsoft Dynamics 365..
and install the app. then you will see the app under the Setting >  Tools > Versium Predict..

With the Versium Predict, it will predict which customer can actually buy your products with your historical data that you have at your organisation.

By simple business process and dashboard the team can easily access the Versium tool and get the job done.

With the Custom predict model,  based on the leads stored in the Dynamics CRM, Versium can predict which lead actually going to buy  and it will score for them, so that team can follow up and close the deals.

Versium Predict uses Machine Learning and Big data for predicting scores from massive datawarehouse directly inside Microsoft Dynamics 365.

This is cool feature and catches eyes of Sales and Marketing Managers to grab the app in the Dynamics 365..

Hello Everyone,

In Microsoft Dynamics 365, there is feature which is quite useful for organisations called "Support Instance"

Support Instance: Support Instance is an non-production instance which is used to troubleshoot the error and reproduce the same error in the support instance and resolve it.

Support Instance can be created by Microsoft  on organisation tenant to resolve the issue. so the support instance is completely different from the production instance, it will not impact the production environment in any way.

System Administrator have complete rights for managing and transferring the organisation data by copying it to a support instance.

 Support instance?

Normally support instance is created in your tenant by Microsoft for preventing or repairing problems on the Online Environment.

so it doesn't need any additional non-production instance to be purchased, database size of a support instance does not count towards your storage limit, also resides in the same data center of your instance.

What data is in a Support instance?

Support Instance is created by Microsoft, no data or customization's of an organisation is copied this instance. Microsoft Dynamics 365 system Administrator can maintain the instance and copy the full or minimal copy of the organisation instance, also SA must consent to providing a copy of their data to Microsoft.

Who has access to a Support instance?
Partial  copy:
Microsoft team members who are members of a support security group
Full copy:
Microsoft team members who are members of an elevated support security group

What type of data access does Microsoft have?

Online  application

System admin privileges

Database (via SQL query tools):

Read/Write access to all tables

Access to the database requires additional approval by Microsoft and it is managed, controlled, and granted as needed.

Access to the database is time limited (for example, 30 minutes) and expires automatically.

How long does a Support instance stay in your tenant?

14 days or resolution of the problem.

SA can delete the Support instance at any time.

Is access and usage of Support instance audited?

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Advanced Find Menu Features

Hi Everyone,

In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Version 1612 ( (DB online Advanced Find Menu.

There are new features available on the File navigation menu..
Click on the File > New Activity >

As we can see all the activities like Task, Fax, Phone Call, Email, Letter, Appointment, Service Activity, Campaign Response, Recurring Appointment, Alert Subscription, Approval, Booking Alert, Invite Redemption and Portal Comment.

From the above activities upto the Recurring Appointment are the normal activities forwarded from Microsoft Dynamics 365 version 8.2 ..

Alert Subscription,Approval, Booking Alert for Field Service activities..

Invite Redemption and Portal Comment are for the Microsoft Portal activities.

The "New Record" menu Item having all the Dynamics 365 entities ..

Menu Item "Print Preview": when advanced find is used to fetch some records using the filter criteria and fetch all the records based on the search criteria then we can see the print preview before it can be print.

Menu Item  "Tool" have the Import Data, Duplicate Detection and Bulk Delete Wizard..

Import Data : Click on the Import Data menu item and select the file want to import into Dynamics 365

Duplicate Detection Wizard: The wizard helps to detect duplicates for all records in one entity.

Bulk Deletion: Wizard helps in defining the deletion criteria for selected entity and scheduling and notification options.

Menu Item "Option" have settings configuration as shown below:

Menu Item "Help" have the below sub items

1. Help on the Page: If we want to know anything about the page browsing then press the "help on the page", it will prompt to MSDN.

2. Content: 
3. Administrator Guide and 4. Trouble Shooting will point to the above url..

5.Microsoft Dynamics 365 Online : will point to the Microsoft website url

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal Login Error

Hi Everyone,

Today I am going to tell you how to resolve the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal Login Error.

So let’s get’s started:

Scenario: if the organisation want to give access to external company users access to portal, then we simply give URL of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal URL.

So the external users click on the URL provided then the user is getting an error message
                                           “The Email is already taken”

What’S that mean : if the external user is a “contact” record inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Application then the above message will pop’s up.

So in order to overcome this error we need to create portal invitation from Dynamics 365 Portal.

Then send the invitation to the external user and once the user access the invitation code and
Redeem it..

External user will be able to login successfully

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal External Users Access

Hey Everyone,

I have encountered a situation when a new portal user is  invited  and the user is unable to login into the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Portal..

Let's look into the situation with an example, let's get's started..

Suppose there is tenant   and tenant,  if tenant want to access the Cosmo tenant portal then the user getting an error message that the user can't access the portal due to
identity provider.. does not exist in Azure AD,

Error will be "the account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first , sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account.

The issue will be in the Azure System, Guest user permissions are limited to NO, also follow the below screen for configuration..

In the Management Portal, Limit Guest Access to "No".


This will resolve the issue and new portal user invited will be able to login successfully into Microsoft Portal.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Upgrade from Version8.2 to Version 9.0

Hello Everyone,

Today we are going to discuss about the process of upgrade from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Version 8.2 to Version 9.0 online.

Firstly this upgrade is done by Microsoft as it is cloud hosted.

The Organisation's System Administrator or Global Administrator have to allow permission for a upgrade.

Here is the latest upgrade scenario:

Here are the recent versions.

Version Name
n 9.0 Dynamics 365, version 9.0
n-1 8.2 Dynamics 365, version 8.2
n-2 8.1 Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2016 Update 1

There is an option for any organisation, optional upgrade is available and a mandatory upgrade..
if you skip one version then  next one version should be mandatory.

You can schedule date of upgrade and rest is assured by Microsoft.

If you change your mind of the upgrade date, you can still postpone the date until the final call for the upgrade date.

An Organisation can find out whether the application is due for the upgrade:
Manage Dynamics 365 Online instances

 System Administrator or Global Administrator have to schedule for update..

Best Practice:

First upgrade sandbox instance of your organisation, if everything goes smoothly then you are good to processed with your production Instance upgrade.

If there is any issues with the Sandbox Instance upgrade then you can revert back to previous state of the instance.

With the above scenario's the end users should approach the Microsoft Partners for the smooth handling of the upgrade process.

Hi Everyone,

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Organisation Insight is cool feature for the Dynamics 365 Customers for the  Microsoft Dynamics 365 Version 1612 ( (DB online.

As it will give more insight into the usage of the Storage, Plugin, Workflow, API calls,  Most active users for particular period and so on..

I will show step by step instructions to into how the Organisation Insight can be installed into Dynamics 365.

So let's get started:

First of all go to Dynamics 365 AppSource:

Search for Organisation Insight:

Click on the Get it now button then you will be prompted with a form to fill in your organisation details and email etc.. click on submit.

After successfully filling the initial submission form. you will be prompted with the following screen shot.

Check the terms and condition buttons and click on Agree button.

Then on the Dynamics 365 Administration Center

After few minute, go to dynamics 365 > Settings > Organisation Insights>

Total Active Users
Total API Calls
API Success Rate
Plug-in Executions

Statistics will be displayed..

On the Left hand side

Click on the Active Usage:

you will be prompted with the statistics of Active Users:

Total Active Users, Active Users Performing Specific Operations, Most Active Users Performing Operations, Total Operations, Total Page Requests.

Cool feature is you can download the statistics into the excel  sheet.

Also we can see Mode of access, Content Usage.

We can still find out about the system jobs,

System jobs  statistics :

Workflow executions, System Jobs Pass Rate, System Jobs Throughput/Hour, Top Workflows By Failures, Most Active Workflows, System Jobs Executions and Backlog.

Click on the Plug-ins statistics:

Plug-in Executions, Most Active Plug-ins, Average Plug-in Execution Time
Top Plug-in By Failures

Click on the API Calls Statistics:

These are the cool features for the Global Administrator of the Enterprise Clients.

Organisations can use this Organisation Insights statistics for reporting purposes.

Microsoft Portal are used to give special access to KB Articles or self service etc..

But inside the organization, client want to know how many users are actually accessing portal.

In Order to get that information then

Just go to advance find > select the contact entity and view active user

select the field "username" contains data..

You will get the count of the users..

Hi Everyone

As  part of my preparation for the MB2-717  Microsoft Dynamics 365 for sales certification.

Today i am going to explain how the default currency works in Dynamics 365.

In Dynamics 365 there is system currency and custom currency:

Product Currency Configuration
- Ability to add new currencies

- Set a default currency
  - Not required but extremely important
  - Able to set a specific currency for your customer

- Precision number can be set

- Exchange rates must be manually managed
   - Exchange rates don;t automatically update for reporting purposes
   - Base currency amounts and exchange rate on existing records remains
      the same, only new records are affected by the new rate

Let's see with an example how this works..

Open an account record in Dynamics 365 and inside the account record,

Click on the recent opportunities subgrid and create a new opportunity, check the currency for that opportunity, its CADDOLLAR.

Now click on the settings icon on the right side of the  web page and you will be prompted with the settings > click on the options by default the currency will be the base currency, you can change to the different currency "AUDDollar"and all the "opportunity, quote, order , invoice" will only be i.e "AUDDollar".

Now create new opportunity for the "Fabricam" account then the currency will be automatically set to be a "AUDDollar" only.

So if you scroll down to the Product line items then there is no price list items, why because we have changed the default currency to "AUDDollar" and the price lists are relay on the currencies. The only we can use "AUDDollars" is we need to associate the price lists with "AUDDollar" currency.

Always remember when working with multiple currencies and multiple price lists and even multiple discounts, some form of planning should be necessary when creating the price lists.

Create a new price list the default currency will be "AUDDollar" Currency, as we have changed the default currency to "AUDDollar". then scroll down to see the price list item  subgrid and click on the + symbol and create thge price list item as you can see on the below image the currency will be the "AUDDollar"  and select the Product from the lookup, unit , Amount  save and close.

Go back to the opportunity "Need some Pendrive" and add product line item. you can also add products to it.

So when working with multiple currencies and multiple price lists , it is very tricky but it does allow you to maintain your customers who might span across the world.

If there is any requirement to bulk edit of the CRM Records then we can achieve this functionality within Dynamics 365 without any external tools..

Suppose you have a requirement to bulk edit of  "Accounts" on Dynamics 365..

Navigate to Dynamics 365 Sales > Accounts >
View > Active Accounts

Select all Accounts and click on "..." then click on the "Export to Excel", you will get some options, select the "Open in Excel Online"

Once all the records are inside Excel Online.. update the changes on the records and the click on the "Save changes to Dynamics 365" Icon..

Once you have updated the records then all the changes will be effected inside Dynamics 365.

Then navigate to Dynamics 365 > Sales > Accounts >

Here you go.. the changes effective on the Dynamics 365 Accounts Records..

This feature is very much handy when any crm users needs to update records without export of the records and update them and then  reimport back into Dynamics 365.

Hi Guys,

Today i am going to show and explain you how to integrate Dynamics 365 with Power BI Out of box..

First of all you need to enable the integration so go to Dynamics 365 > Settings > Administration > System Settings >Select  Reporting Tab

That's all we need to configure in the Dynamics 365..

We are going to connect to one of the Content Packs made for Dynamics 365 inside Power BI, so we need the OData feed from D365. Go to Settings-> Customizations ->Developer Resources:

From the above image copy the url..upto the .com...

Login to the Power BI and Login with the same account as you logged into Dynamics 365.

Open up the side bar menu and go to the Get Data

Under the Content Pack Library:

Select Services:

Then you will be prompted with the below page and search for Dynamics 365 .. and select the Customer Service Analytics for Dynamics 365..

You will be prompted with the following page and click on the get in now button..

Again new pop up will come up and place the url copied from the developer resource of Dynamics 365

Click on Next button then you will be prompted with the below pop up ..
In the pop up , Select Authenticated Method =  " oAuth2 " and the click Sign in.

Then you will get sign in page and select the login credentials that you have used for the Dynamics 365 and Power BI

Click on the credentials then ...

After few minutes you will be prompted with beautiful dashboard..

Yahoo!.. we have powerful and very useful dashboard is ready to view..

Then head back to Dynamics 365 > Services > Dashboard.. then Click on the "NEW" dropdown..
you will be prompted with "Power BI Dashboard" select it..

After clicking on the Power BI Dashboard ..

Then check the box for enable for mobile and click on save button..

Here you go .. you can see "Customer Service Analytics for Dynamics 365 Dashboard.. at the moment on the current dashboard 10 underlying reports and if you want to go back to Power BI, you can click on the top right side button " OPEN IN POWER BI".. then you will in POWER BI again..

This is very cool....

 if you want to share this dashboard with other colleagues in your organization you’ll have to share the dashboard in PowerBI. Then the users can import it to their personal dashboard inside D365, so security is pretty much handled by PowerBI. The content packs made by Microsoft gives you a great starting point for reports, I recommend  every one of them
